Weekend work

I finished some other projects this weekend when my hands were hurting from all the knitting. They are still knitting related. I have been making box bags to carry sock projects in. I finished four more Sunday. I am saving some of them for gifts and prizes for Knit alongs. Someone will win one in the Jan/Feb Solid Socks Mystery sock knit along.

And Monday I finished my other WIP dancing project for the Ravelympics.

I think they turned out really great. I earned my medals:

One Down

One of my Ravelympics projects is finished. I should be able to finish my La Digitessa today.

Here it is: Barty socks by Cat Bordhi.

My sweater is coming along slowly. Socks are more my cup of tea.

I had to take yesterday off of knitting as my wrists were beginning to hurt. It will be good to get all the twisted stitches in La Digitessa finished.

Ravelympics update

I have been very busy with the Ravelympics knitting. Today the sun finally came out and I have pictures.

Here is my Favorite Cardigan. I managed to finish the raglan increases and split the sleeves off yesterday. I hope to begin the waist shaping today.

I am to the toe on my Barty socks. These are my oldest WIP and I am very excited to finish them.

The La Digitessa's are through the heel turn. I want to finish these beautiful socks.

Snow, snow, snow

We have had too much snow this winter. On Monday we got 8". It just would not stop snowing. There was another 2" today. I am officially sick of shoveling.

Yesterday was a holiday and today a snow day. The kids have now had two three day weeks in a row. At least it cleared up a little this afternoon and we got out to see a movie.

My Olympic knitting is suffering set backs. I am working on the Favorite Cardigan by Wendy Bernard. I have had two cables break on my needles. And because of the snow I have not been able to get out to get new needles.

Also because of all the snow I have not been able to get good pictures of my projects. Here is hoping for tomorrow.

Back to School

Today was the first day the kids had a full day of school in three days. We had two snow days and a 2 hour delay. Everyone (read MOM) is very happy to have the kids back to school. Especially since it is a three day weekend.

We got a total of about 8 inches of snow. The kids got to go sledding on Wednesday. That was fun. I got out to take pictures. I will try to post some later when there is time to go through them all.

I also finished the Here and There scarf. Unfortunately the pictures I took of it did not turn out right. I will have to try again this weekend.

This is what it looked like this morning out our garage. The sun was just up.

Everything was coated with a layer of frost today. Quite beautiful.

I restarted the sock I designed at the Cookie A class in November, Snow Petals. I changed it around just a little because the first did not fit right. I will post pictures tomorrow.

Have a great weekend.

Snow Day

This weekend we had a lot of snow. But I still made it to Sock Club. I was just an hour late. It was a great time. There were only about 10 of us.

Here is our snow from Saturday.

And here are the goodies I got after sock club. Malabrigo in Violeta Africana and Ravelry Red. I think I will make the purple into a shawl for my daughter.

Here is today's snow. We got another 4 or 5 inches. I know I will have to go out and shovel again today.

The kids have had fun building forts. It is a fun day for a snow day.

Progress Report

I got farther alone on my projects this week due to a bad cold. I didn't feel like being up and about. (That's my story and I'm sticking to it.)

Here is the scarf for my Husband. It is the Here and There Scarf.

And here is the Spina Di Pesce socks.

February 3, 2010

Look at the yummy goodies I received in the mail this week. They are from Slackford Studio The top one is her new Samite sock yarn, which is 50% Merino and 50% Silk. So soft and lovely.
The other two are the Pathway sock which is a dream to knit with.

Groundhog Day

Today I am working on Spina Di Pesce socks by the wonderful Yarnissima. This is one of her more intricate patterns but I am finding it fairly easy to follow.

I am also working on the Here and There Scarf by Norah Gaughan.

Both are turning out beautiful. I can't wait to finish.
